Our Roots
Backwoods Farm Market started as a hobby for Dale Kriesche, who began selling produce from his grandparents garden off of the back of his pickup truck over 20 years ago. By working hard to grow quality produce and connecting to the local community, the business has expanded into the three market locations you see today!
Michigan Made
A portion of our produce begins as seeds in our 120 foot long, double decker greenhouse and are eventually moved into our gardens during the late spring and early summer. In addition to what we grow on the farm, we work with family farms throughout Michigan to source produce and products from around the state.
